Berkhamsted is a vibrant little place, and buzzes on Wednesdays and Saturdays when market comes to town. Home to a fascinating patchwork of English architectural styles, the town boasts the oldest shop in Great Britain dating back to 1277! Berkhamsted is known for its good food and the High Street is a great place to find nice things to eat.

Berkhamsted stands on the famous Grand Union Canal, a haven for river wildlife, and the countryside around is rolling and gentle.  All this just half an hour from London!

Berkhamsted School is a private, independent school, dating back to 1541, retaining its original building while incorporating modern facilities.

It is located in the centre of Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, around 30 kilometres north-west of London. All main buildings are a 5-10 minute walk from each other.

The Digital Summer School in Berkhamsted is set in one of England’s most famous and successful schools, whose patron is none other than Queen Elizabeth II! The school is large, set over two campuses and retains its original school buildings dating back to 1541, and offers every type of modern and impressive facilities.

Getting to the school

Transfers

  • Arrivals and departures are on Sundays only.
  • See our Price List or your Group Quote for exact arrival and departure times.
  • Price includes accompanied transfer to and from London Heathrow* with the arrival and departure times listed in the Price List or group quote. Transfers outside of these times and dates are subject to an additional cost.
  • Transfers may involve a waiting time of up to two hours after students have cleared immigration.
    *Gatwick, Luton, St Pancras, London City and Stansted arrivals and departures incur a supplement charge and are usually transferred via Heathrow which may incur additional waiting time. Transfers from other airports are available upon request and additional costs will be charged.

Cambridge

Cambridge University is one of the oldest and most respected universities in the world. The traditional town centre offers shopping, amenities, and plenty of green spaces.

Packed meal and admission to King’s College Chapel included. The total duration of this trip is 9 hours with 3 hours travel time.

OPTIONAL HALF DAY (GBP 75)

Harry Potter Warner Bros Studio Tour

Go behind the scenes of the films and see how they were made. Join in the magic and view the costumes, props and special effects used to bring the stories to life.

Total duration 5 hours of which 1 hour is travel time. This excursion must be booked by 31 Mar 2020.

OPTIONAL HALF DAY (GBP 36)

London Eye

Spend your afternoon viewing the city from the highest possible point. The London Eye takes you high above the city’s skyline and lets you see the whole of England’s capital.

The total duration of this trip is approximately 5.5 hours, of which 2 hours is travel time.

INCLUDED HALF DAY & EVENING

London Southbank & Dinner in Central London

Enjoy a walking tour along London’s famous Southbank to see unique sights such as Shakespeare’s Globe, Tate Modern and St Paul’s Cathedral. End the day with dinner in central London.

Packed meal included. Total duration approximately 8 hours, of which 3 hours is travel time.

INCLUDED FULL DAY

London West End

Take in the major sights on a guided walking tour of this exciting and historic capital city. See many famous London landmarks, including Big Ben, Trafalgar Square, 10 Downing Street and Covent Garden.

Packed meal included. Total duration approximately 9 hours, of which 3 hours is travel time. (Group visits to particular attractions are available upon request.)

OPTIONAL HALF DAY (GBP 45)

Madame Tussauds

Spend the afternoon with your favourite film, sport and music stars at this popular wax museum. Have your photo taken with the Royal family and finish with the spectacular Spirit of London ride.

The total duration of this trip is approximately 5.5 hours, of which 2 hours is travel time.

Oxford College & City Tour

Visit the oldest university city in the English-speaking
world. An ideal place to combine sightseeing and shopping with a visit
to a world famous college.

Packed meal and admission to an Oxford college included. Total duration approximately 9 hours, of which 3 hours is travel time.

Royal Walk & Dinner in Central London

Take in some of London’s most fam=ous sights from the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben to Buckingham Palace and Westminster Abbey. End the day with dinner in central London.

Packed meal included. Total duration approximately 8 hours, of which 3 hours is travel time.

INCLUDED FULL DAY (weeks 3 & 4 only)

Science Museum, Natural History Museum & Harrods

Visit two of the UK’s most impressive museums, with life size dinosaur skeletons and interactive technology. Then visit Harrods, a 200 year old luxury department store.

St Albans

Located to the north of London, St Albans is a town rich in history. The current cathedral was largely built in the 11th century and is the second longest church in the country.

Thorpe Park

Visit one of Europe’s most exciting theme parks. With over 30 rides and 10 “Extreme Thrill” rides, Thorpe Park will easily keep everyone entertained all day.

Whipsnade Zoo

Explore this huge 600 acre zoo which is home to around 3000 different species, many of which are endangered. Whipsnade Zoo has been delighting animal lovers for over 70 years.

Windsor & Eton

See Windsor Castle, one of the residences of Queen Elizabeth, and visit the historical towns of Windsor and Eton, home of the famous school which Princes William and Harry attended.
