Anti-bullying Policy

We are committed to providing a caring, friendly and safe environment for all of our pupils so they can learn in a relaxed and secure atmosphere. Bullying of any kind is unacceptable at our school. If bullying does occur, all students should be able to tell and know that incidents will be dealt with promptly and effectively.

We are committed to making our school a caring, friendly and safe environment where our students feel relaxed and motivated to learn. Bullying of any kind is unacceptable. Anyone affected can talk to us and be confident that any instances of bullying will be looked into immediately and resolved quickly.

What is Bullying?

Bullying is knowing you are saying or doing things that will hurt another person making them unhappy or upset.

Bullying can be:

  • Emotional – being unfriendly, not including people, hiding peoples’ things.
  • Physical – pushing, kicking, hitting, punching or any other violence.
  • Racist – talking in a bad way about other cultures and races. Gestures.
  • Sexual – unwanted physical contact or sexual comments.
  • Homophobic – focussing on a person’s sexuality.
  • Verbal – calling people names, saying unkind things about people.

Cyber Bulling

Cyberbullying is the use of the Internet and related technologies to harm or harass other people, in a deliberate, repeated, and hostile manner.

Why is it Important to Respond to Bullying?

Bullying is never acceptable, and LAL fully recognizes its duty to protect all of its students and to provide a safe, healthy environment for everyone.

Bullying hurts. Everybody should be treated with respect.

Action Required

Should any student become aware of bullying behaviour they should report it to member of LAL staff immediately.

Should any member of staff become aware of bullying behaviour, they should report it to a member of the Welfare Department immediately.
We will respond quickly and effectively.
