Local Transport

  • School to central Cape Town: 10 minutes by bus, ZAR 7 per trip 10 minutes by taxi, ZAR 65 per trip
  • School to CPT International Airport 30 minutes by taxi, ZAR 350
  • School to Host Home 5-30 minutes on foot or by bus
  • Daily bus fares ZAR 14 per day

Transfers

Students booking course and accommodation with LAL will receive a free inbound transfer from CPT International Airport.

Shared Transfers without representative

  • LAL or LAL leased vehicles or private vehicles with other LAL students
  • You will be met and assisted by an LAL representative

Table Mountain

Table Mountain is the defining landmark of Cape Town, with panoramic views of the entire city and surrounding areas. It has gained global recognition after being named as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World.

Quad Biking

Cruise around an off-road quad course for an afternoon of extreme motorsport action. Prepare for a bumpy ride!

Surfing

Surf’s up! Muizenberg is the perfect beginner’s beach, with a slight breeze causing small shore-breaking waves. Learn how to catch a wave to start your surf adventure in the warmer waters of the Indian Ocean.

Skydiving

The best view of Cape Town is from above. Plunge out of a moving aeroplane, plummeting for a 30-second free fall before peacefully floating towards the earth for the ultimate adrenaline rush.

Helicopter Tour

Enjoy a scenic helicopter flight over Cape Town, ascending above Table Mountain and circumventing the Atlantic Seaboard and False Bay coastlines.

The Cape Winelands

A journey through the historic Cape Winelands will take you over lush mountain passes to the French Huguenot-influenced village of Franschhoek, South Africa’s wine capital of Stellenbosch and the picturesque town of Paarl.

We have 2 day, 3 day and 5 day safari’s to choose from. See wildlife, explore the garden route on a trip of a lifetime.

Shark Cage Diving

Engage with the great white shark up-close-and-personal, with only a cage separating one from this deadly predator. Shark viewing from the boat will allow one to see multiple sharks circling in the open waters.

Horseriding

Traverse the endless sands of Long Beach by horseback, taking in the fresh sea air and tranquil scenery.

Whale Watching

During the period from June to November, you can join our whale-watching tour! The trip follows the scenic coastline of False Bay to the quaint town of Hermanus, the most prolific whale watching site in South Africa.

Sand boarding

Descend the dunes of Atlantis at thrilling speeds on a sandboard; testing the limits of your balance.

Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens

Half-day excursion to Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, the only botanical garden in the world which is inside a natural World Heritage Site. Kirstenbosch conserves and displays the extraordinarily rich and diverse flora of southern Africa. The duration of this trip is 4 hours. Total travel time of 1 hour.
